Hey, I don't know the Powerbook stuff, being a PC guy, but the Wacom works pretty well -- I have the smallest one (4x5), wish I had gotten one size larger. The iPod is the single best purchase I've made over the past five years... it not only holds my ENTIRE music collection but also serves as a backup and really, really big floppy drive. :-)

Long time reader, first time writer, blah, blah, blah... Great diary. And a fellow Los Angelino! It's a cool city though everybody puts it down. Yes it has flaws -- can't breathe here, can't drive here, but those things are overrated aren't they? You can't find good pizza here, but that's a different story. Not sure if you're looking for advice on the wacom tablet or just the computer. But in case you haven't used a wacom tablet -- which I can't imagine -- they are amazing. I've done character design work and some basic animation for a number of hollywood studios using them, and I'm always so glad to have one. I animated a show for Comedy Central using one of those ancient drawing tablets where the pen is connected to the tablet by a wire -- like in a bank where they think you're going to steal their pen -- and it was annoying as hell. Can't help you with the computer though. Haven't used Macs in a few years. No more animation for me. Developing TV shows. Take care, P
