They're all factors of the number 9. Look at the chart, it will change after every guess. The answer will be either 9 ,18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72 or 81. If you check the chart these symbols will be alike every time on the chart. Scott

More: adding the digits gives you your number modulo 9; subtracting that from your original number always gives you a number that is divisible by 9. i.e.: 23 / 9 = 2 with remainder 5. 23 - 5 = 18. Another variant: "take any number, as large as you want. multiply by 9. Add up the digits over and over until you are left with one digit. I can tell you what your number is." It will always be 9, of course.

Hi there! I was so excited that I figured out the pattern, but as I am no math whiz, I never was able to take it as far as the guys above. Meanwhile, I'll just write about passing gas (Your note was so funny. I'm soooo glad to hear it was just my family!! Boys will be boys, huh?) How come I can't sign onto your guestbook? :)
